Madi has been passionate about sustainability and food equity ever since she joined a student-led food rescue group while working towards her Bachelor’s degree at Emory University. After graduating, she served as the Marketing and Outreach Coordinator at a nonprofit called Second Helpings Atlanta. Her favorite part of this role was engaging K-12 students in their food rescue mission. During her time working with students, she found that there was a need for more educational, food-based programming in schools. She believes that providing people with trustworthy, accessible nutrition information is an integral part of food equity work. This led her to pursue a Master’s degree in Nutrition Education at American University which she completed in May of 2023.
Madi moved to Denver in October of 2022. In the winter, you might see her on the slopes when she isn’t cozied up at home knitting. In the warmer months you can find her walking her dog Cosmo, wandering thrift stores, or getting her hands dirty in the garden.
